I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State for over 30 years. I’ve worked in Inpatient hospitals, Outpatient Community Mental Health Centers and have had a private practice in four locations in Western Washington. I have revamped my therapeutic approach using recent breakthroughs made in brain research and Neuroscience. I use Neuroplasticity and Bio-Acoustic Medicine techniques that create an almost instant effect and results in life long changes if used regularly.

I’ve worked extensively with families and individuals in crisis and in the area of complex trauma. I’ve helped individuals who experienced severe child abuse, depression and anxiety.  I also enjoy working with professionals and executives doing coaching work to improve their business strategies especially in the area of HR issues.

All of life’s issues, stresses and problems have paths to resolution and happiness, but each of our maps are different. One size does not fit all. Hence the need for personalized approaches to find your path and methods to regain your strength, resilience and success.

Please believe me when I say no situation or personal experience is hopeless. That is simply not the truth. You can find happiness and there are many maps and methods that will lead you to where you want to go. You have choices along the way but you must first understand what your brain is doing habitually in processing your circumstances.

I relocated to Spokane nine years ago and was most recently a Clinical Director for a local community mental health agency. I am now back in private practice a in Spokane. Honestly, there is no situation too upsetting, confusing or difficult that I have not successfully worked with previously.

Due to the success of Neuroscience based techniques along with some traditional approaches, I currently have a short wait list so you MUST EMAIL ME at: Sonya@DewittCounselingConsulting.com  Please state in the email:

  1. What are your concerns
  2. What has been your prior diagnoses if any
  3. What success/failures have you had in prior therapy
  4. What is your insurance.
